CARPET CLEANING
• What method do you use for carpet cleaning?
We use the very best truck-mounted, hot water extraction system on the market. Carpet manufacturers and carpet cleaning experts agree, truck-mounted, hot water extraction (steam cleaning, as it’s commonly called) is the best method of carpet cleaning, period. Your carpets will look great, feel soft, smell good, dry quickly, and stay cleaner longer using this method.
Do I need to be present during the cleaning?
No. One of the biggest advantages of using our service is our trustworthy and honest reputation. Our clients feel at ease leaving us unattended while they’re at work or running errands. In fact, a majority of our work is done for clients who don’t even live in the area, but who hire us to clean their second homes or rental properties at the beach.
• Do I need to vacuum beforehand?
Vacuuming is highly recommended, but not required. If needed, we will pre-vacuum the area before cleaning. Our equipment is also vacuuming the entire time we are cleaning.
• Do you move furniture?
Yes, we can move your furniture and return it to its rightful place when cleaning is completed. We generally clean around larger items, such as pianos, electronics, china cabinets, and entertainment centers. In bedrooms, we typically clean around most beds and dressers. We suggest you remove any lamps, knick knacks, and other breakable items from the furniture you want moved. In preparation of our arrival, many of our clients will move the items they wish, and just have us clean the open areas around what is left.
• How long will it take for my carpet to dry?
Dry time is affected by a number of factors, including carpet type, degree of soiling, humidity, temperature, and air flow to the area cleaned. Depending on these factors, it can take anywhere from 2 to 24 hours for carpet to dry, but on average, 6 to 10 hours are needed for complete drying.
Using fans in any rooms cleaned and turning your air conditioning or heating system on, depending on the time of year, can help speed drying time. It may also help to open your windows to increase air flow, assuming low humidity outside.
You may walk on your carpet immediately after cleaning. We just suggest wearing clean rubber soled shoes if you are going to do so. Be especially careful when walking from damp, carpeted areas on to hard flooring to avoid slipping.
• A spot reappeared after cleaning. What should I do?
Although most spots we remove from your carpet do not reappear, some spots and spills that have seeped deep into the backing or padding of your carpet may slowly wick back to the surface after cleaning. If this happens, please let us know as soon as possible so we can help remedy the situation.
• My carpet rippled or bubbled after cleaning. How long will it last?
Some types of carpet will absorb moisture and expand slightly during the cleaning process, causing a ripple or bubble effect on the surface of the carpet. This is usually a sign that the carpet was in need of re-stretching prior to cleaning. Regardless, the carpet should return to normal once it is completely dry.
• Can you apply carpet protection after cleaning?
Yes, we can professionally apply carpet protector specially formulated to create a protective coating around each carpet fiber. This extra layer of protection helps carpet resist dirt and liquid spills, making vacuuming more effective, while giving you more time to clean up spills before they soak into your carpet fibers.
